DEPARTMENT OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS
The Department of Corporate Affairs is the professional service arm of the Company. It is responsible for managing the stakeholders landscape of the Company. The need to constantly engage with the audiences of the Company is so important. Whether it is speaking to customers, regulators or the host communities, the corporate reputation of the Company is valuable.
Leading the Department for a seamless coordination is the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Barr Imaobong Effiong, who also provides legal direction on the representation as well as secretariat and other services that will ensure congenial environment for the conducive sitting and deliberations of the Board of Directors as the Company Secretary.
Barr Imaobong Effiong holds a Bachelors of Law Degree (1998) from the University of Uyo and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She also holds a Post Graduadte Diploma in Public Administration (2005).
She joined the services of Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited as a Legal Officer in 2004 and has held and served in different capacities such as; Head, Human Resources, Manager, Administration and Personnel.
Born to the family of Peter Jerome Effiong of Mbiaya Uruan, Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Barr Imaobong is a Member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). She is an old student of Immaclate Conception Secondary School, Itak and Army Children’s School, Uyo respectively.
As a top management staff who heads the Corporate Affairs Department, The General Manager works with the Legal and Public Relations Sections. The Legal Section ensures effective handling of the legal affairs of the Company.
The Public Relations Section establishes and sustains good corporate image for the Company.
