Engr. Edo Etuk, a native of Mbioto 11, Etinan LGA, was born in Accra-Ghana in the mid-sixties. He obtained his primary and secondary education at Nyiaeso International School and Prempeh College, Kumasi-Ghana in 1981 respectively.
He possesses also a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1987 with biases in Structural, Public Health and water Resources Engineering. His other academic qualifications include Masters of Business Administration (MBA) UNICAL-2004, Masters in Environment/Resource Management (In view 2020). A registered member of Nigerian Society of Engineer (NSE)/COREN and in addition a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria (NICARB). He recently also bagged fellowship awards of corporate Administrator of Nigeria (FCAI) and Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (FNICE).
He has had an enviable post-graduation career over three decades in both public and private sector of the Engineering practice. Highlights of his experience saw him superintend the structural Designs of Public buildings in the federation when with the Federal Ministry of Works & Housing, Lagos !988-1993. This was followed by the position as a pioneer civil Engineer with Nigerdock Limited 1993-1995.
He further transited as an Assistant Resident Engineer with AIM Consultants Limited on a World Bank Assisted Lagos Stormwater Drainage Project; focused on the implementation of primary drainage systems of the entire Lagos metropolis 1995-1998. The high point of his engagement as the then special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State saw him coordinating a policy thrust of ensuring government policies and programmes for infrastructural development were implemented between 2003-2007.
After a few years stint in private practice, he was appointed the Director of works at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo (UUTH) 2010-2020, combining the dual clients’ representative status on multi-million Naira capital projects and supervising routine maintenance of various infrastructural facilities in the hospital. His experience in arbitration complemented his successful brokerage of five notable contract disputes in UUTH in the development of the Engineering practice.
It is in 2021 that the Akwa Ibom State government appointed him as the Managing Director /Chief Executive Director Officer of Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited (AKWCL). He is saddle with the major task of revamping her service of providing potable water to semi-urban and urban towns. He has through AKWCL, in partnership with parent Ministry of Lands and Water Supply Sanitation And Health (WASH) sector to birth a revolution in the emerging Water Industry in Akwa Ibom State.
His hobbies are reading, hockey, table tennis and football. He is happily married to Dr. Cordelia Ifeanyichukwu Etuk, A medical practitioner/Entrepreneur and blessed with children.
